More Words without Pictures

25 February, 2010

Great news from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. A year or so ago they began a project called Words without Pictures, an online and in-person forum designed to get new voices in photography to discuss critical issues in art photography, under the direction of the peerless Charlotte Cotton, who has since moved on to head up photography programs at the Science Museum in London. I was a bit player in all this, though I did have the honor to be one of the first respondents to the first paper. Anyway, LACMA self-published a small version of the book, but now comes news that Aperture and Thames & Hudson are teaming up to produce and distribute a version for the trade next year. Aperture will bring out the American version, T&H the British.
